Step 1

Getting your license key

The Log Viewer requires a one-time Datalog License. This license is tied to your browser β€” you only need to enter it once per device.

Don't have a license yet?

You can purchase a Datalog License directly from the link below to unlock the Log Viewer and Editor Helper.

Buy a Datalog License β†’
1

Open the Log Viewer

Go to log-viewer.html. You'll see a license entry screen on first visit.

2

Enter your license key

Paste the key you received after purchase and click Activate. The key is saved to your browser β€” you won't need to enter it again on this device.

3

New device or browser?

Simply enter the same license key again. One license works across your devices.

Step 2

Loading a log file

Both Maptuner X and Maptuner Nano record datalogs as .mtx files. There are two ways to load one:

A

Drag & drop

Drag your .mtx log file directly onto the Log Viewer window. It will load instantly.

B

Browse for a file

Click the Open log button in the top toolbar and select your file from your computer or phone.

πŸ’‘ Maptuner X: Logs are stored under the Datalogs folder on the device. Connect via USB or use the Maptuner app to transfer them to your computer.

Maptuner Nano: Logs are saved directly in your vehicle. You can share them to your phone or computer via email, text, Google Drive, or any other sharing option available on your device.

Step 3

Graphs view β€” reading your data

Once a log is loaded, you land on the Graphs view. This is where you visually analyze your run.

πŸ–±οΈ

Hover to inspect

Move your cursor over the chart to see exact values for all visible channels at that point in time.

πŸ”

Zoom in

Click and drag on the chart to zoom into a specific time range. Double-click to zoom back out.

πŸ—ΊοΈ

Mini-map

The bar at the bottom shows the full run. Drag it to pan through the log without losing context.

🎨

Channel colors

Each channel has its own color. Click the color swatch in the sidebar to change it.

ℹ️ Use the search bar in the left panel to quickly find a channel by name β€” useful when a log has dozens of channels.

Step 4

Working with channels

Channels are the individual data streams in your log (RPM, speed, throttle, coolant temp, etc.). You control which ones are visible.

1

Show / hide a channel

Click the colored dot next to any channel name in the left sidebar to toggle it on or off.

2

Pin important channels

Channels you use most can be pinned to the top of the list so they're always easy to find.

3

Set an AFR target

Click the AFR target button to overlay a reference line on your wideband channel. Useful for quickly spotting lean or rich areas.

4

Clear and reload

Click Clear frames to unload the current log and load a new one without refreshing the page.

Step 5

Editor Helper β€” fuel table tuning

The Editor Helper tab takes your log data and turns it into actionable fuel table corrections β€” a starting point for your next tune revision.

⚠️ The Editor Helper provides suggestions only. Always review corrections before applying them to a tune. Do not apply changes without understanding what they do.
1

Switch to Editor Helper

Click the Editor Helper button in the top toolbar (next to Graphs).

2

Follow the guided steps

The Editor walks you through: selecting your log data β†’ reviewing the fuel map β†’ applying corrections. Each step has its own tab at the top.

3

Review the correction table

Cells are color-coded: green = run richer, red = run leaner. Cells with little or no data are dimmed β€” don't rely on them.

4

Export or copy the table

Use the export button to download your corrected table, ready to import into Maptuner.

Tips & common questions

?

"My log won't load"

Make sure the file is a .mtx file exported directly from Maptuner X. Other formats are not supported.

?

"My license key isn't working"

Double-check for extra spaces when pasting. If the problem persists, open a support ticket and include your license key.

?

"I switched browsers and lost my activation"

The license is saved per browser. Just enter your key again β€” it will activate instantly.

?

Best browser to use?

Chrome or Edge on desktop give the best experience. Safari and Firefox work but may render charts slightly differently.

!

Editor Helper: match your tune's axis values

Before using the Editor Helper to generate fuel corrections, make sure the RPM and load axis values in the app match the axis of the fuel table in the tune you're working with. If the axes don't line up, the corrections will be applied to the wrong cells and the results won't be usable.

🎯 Still stuck? Open a support ticket and the RIVA Racing team will help you out.
